  • Samantha Winning

Hello! My name is Samantha Winning. Last name sound familiar? Well, that's because I am Dr. Winning's daughter. So you could say that I have been working with him since I was a baby. Growing up with a vet as a dad was the greatest childhood I could have asked for. I grew up around people who had a passion for helping animals and of course I fit right in. The past few years, I have been able to get more experience working directly with the animals and has made me want to consider a career in animal care. My favorite memory of working with my dad was when he practiced out of our home in Dairyville.

In the middle of the night, we had a dog come in who was having trouble giving birth and Dad had to perform a cesarean section. My sister's and I watched as dad would give my mom the puppies to clear their airways and get their systems going. By the end of the night, the momma had recovered and each of us sat with a puppy in our laps until she was ready for them. After that night I realized that one way or another, I would be helping animals in any way that I could. I am currently working and going to school to get a business degree. After I achieve that degree, I would like to go to school to be a RVT.

  • Rochelle .

Hi my name is Rochelle. I have lived in the North Valley for most of my life and I have always had animals. I have three grown children that live in the area. I have always taught my kids that when you get an animal, it is a lifelong commitment! I currently have two dogs (Taz and Kelby Elizabeth), that I inherited from my kids. I also have two horses (Sunny and Bella), that are for pleasure and work, as well as two indoor cats (Tessa Rae and Humpty Dumpty), and many outdoor kitties that depend on me for food and a safe place to sleep, veterinary care and love. I also foster and re-home unwanted kittens when I can. I love working with animals and people who love animals too. I feel I have one of the best jobs in the world, and work with some of the best people in the world.

  • Michael B.

Growing up in rural Tehama County meant morning chores before school, and mostly caring for the animals. Tending to and caring for critters of all varieties has always been a satisfying and mutually beneficial part of my life. After living for some time in Southern California, my cat Pudgy and I have returned home to Gerber. I am thrilled to be able to support the staff caring for our community’s precious loved ones. During time away from work, Pudgy and I can be found having grand adventures along Big Chico Creek, Castle Crags, and the Redding River Trail. Sometimes, when she would rather take a nap, I get to go for a ride on my motorcycle.
